Selection / Attractions / Kanchanaburi / Sangkhla Buri Sangkhla Buri is located in the far west of the Kanchanaburi province, at the boundary to Myanmar. The Three Pagodas Pass is the border crossing station to Myanmar. A big part of the district is covered by the Khao Laem Reservoir, an artificial lake formed by the Khao Laem dam in the Khwae Noi River. In Sangkhla Buri there are some very interesting places to visit.
Wat Wang Wiwekaram, situated on the hill side in Sangkla Buri, the monastery abbot "Luanpho Uttama" is highly respected among Thai people, Tribal people and Burmese. The pagoda was built in the style similar to Buddha Gaya in India.
Mon Bridge, this is the longest wooden bridge in Thailand. It connects Sangkhla Buri and the Mon village. The bridge is used frequently early morning by the villagers going to their work.
Another spectacular attraction are the caves Tham Kaeo Sawan Bandan. The caves are inside a meditation centre, sometimes it is possible to go caving with monks.
