Early morning is the best time to visit this unique floating market – a rendezvous of local vendors who sell their fresh produce from rowing boats. Traditional floating markets like this are rarely found nowadays. Many of them slowly disappeared after the construction of roads as part of city expansion. Tha Kha is best visited on a private tour from Bangkok, driving distance is about 80 km.
You will go on a rowing boat through the floating market, and then explore the beautiful surrounding countryside where you will visit a coconut sugar farm.
This market is a nice alternative for people who don’t like the crowds and commercial activities at Damnoen Saduak floating market.
Tha Kha floating market originally opened once every 4-5 days with a schedule based on the old lunar calendar. Currently we only visit it in the weekend.
